- Thomas Hauser with Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Ali: His Life and Times(London, 1997)
This superbly written book offers a more critical view of Ali than earlier hagiographical works.
Even so, the treatment of him looks slightly dated when compared to some more recent books that explore more of the contradictions of Ali’s character.
But Hauser brings out the joy of Ali’s personality and the phenomenal story of his career.
It is a book that should be on the essential-read list of every lover of boxing literature.
